    Default help with emission light

    hi there got in my car to take it for its mot today and on the way there my car cut out managed to start it again then the emission light stays on, its fine for a couple of miles then the power goes it just wont pull at all can anyone help please.

    Code reading time mate
    But be careful not to drive it like that cause you can damage the catalytic converter I think...and they are not cheap.

    i have an 04 2.2 sri my exhaust light has just come on is it a case of a new exhaust sensor and if so how much and where from. i want a good one instead of a cheap one so it lasts cheers

    got it to the garage he thought it was the sensor so he ordered it then took it for the mot and it passed but it was still doing it so he had a look round and found that water had got into the spark plug which was causing it to miss fire and only running on three cylinders so hes cleaned them out and its fine he said that all this really bad weather has probably caused it and also with it not been droven for 2 week (as i have a work van)this might have caused this to happen but to keep an eye on it , so he had to cancel the sensor it cost £80 for the mot and for him to clean it out so more than happy with that cheaper than vx, just want to say thanks to people that have replyed to this thread from james
