Default Buying on a budget, 2.0t vs 3.2 - Help and Ideas Please

First of all Ė Iím new to V-C.com and found this forum searching for answers to my puzzling dilemma.
(Realised if you put vectra-c.com followed a search criteria into Google you can read the threads before becoming a member)
Any way here it is, I donít think there are any right or wrong answers to my question but I am interested in any and all opinions.
£4000 (possibly £4500 if I can find a buyer for one well worn kidney) and I want a 2.0 T vec. Is this realistic, Iíve done a little research on auto trader and local papers but not confident in finding one.
I could have a 3.2 and with my job I get a fuel card Ė unfortunately it comes with a limit of 3.0 litre engine.
I also need to buy before August 2008.
    Any Ideas???

if you search hard, and if we all search hard for you it 'may' be possible to find one, but it will be hard...the 3.2 is much more obtainable for that money as folks don't like the idea of feeding one..if you could 'work' on that limit of engine size ( or just take the badge off before the boss see's it) then the 3.2 is the one..

all you/we can do is keep trying to find you one, but our resident expert as finding cars is currently sat in the sun in the med..

You will get a lot of fun out of a 3.2. But with the fuel card restriction, a 20t might be the best option, you can "tune" a 2.0t to get a whole lot more power out of it. But with the price of fuel and new road tax you will get a very good 3.2 GSI or Elite for your money.
Me I would go for the 3.2 any time.

    Default GSI vs ELITE

    Elite in the luxury model?

    GSI is the Grand Tourer?

Whats the diffrence? GSI got sports suspension? Anything else?

Elite has full leather and heated seats, the GSI has half-leather non-heated seats. GSI has sports suspension (same as SRI), Elite has standard suspension. GSI has visible tailpipes, Elite has a single hidden tailpipe. Early Elites do not have smoked indicators and darkstyle front headlights like the GSI.

The GSI is the sporty model, and the Elite is more luxurious. You pays your money, you takes your choice.

The price of GSI's has taken more of a tumble than 2.0T's due to its engine size and emissions. But it is faster than the 2.0T and has a more tuneful engine, although in power terms a remapped 2.0T will run it close.

If you buy the 3.2, take the badge off the back, break it to separate the numbers from the decimal point, and the put them back on the car in a different order. Voila....you now drive a 2.3

both standard and the 3.2 would school the 2.0t

I would say a remapped 2.0t would be faster 0-100 above that the 3.2 would just cruse on by. I know its not fair to compare standard to tuned but the 2.0t is far easier and cheaper to tune while it is quite hard to extract much more power out of the 3.2 lump. Would love a go in a 3.2 as its quite rare, Has a certain something about it.
