Default Turbo issue on 1.9 CDTI 120

    Hi all,
    First post here!

    I've got a 56 plate Vectra 1.9 CDTI 120.

I've had one or two problems with it lately and have just had the fuel return valve replaced due to a hole in it which was causing me problems trying to cold start the car. That was Friday just there it was replaced...

Yesterday I finished my DJing at 11:30 in Kirkintilloch after 3 1/2 hours. So out to the car (It was about 15'C outside) and started driving off. After 3 miles of 30mph roads that I cruised comfortably at 40mph I go to the M80 motorway. So I hit the accelerator on the long slip for this motorway and suddenly the car lost power. The engine won't go anymore than 3000RPM when I crash the accelerator out of gear. And it struggles to hit 2000RPM when driving in gear. Particular 4th, 5th and 6th. The car won't go faster than 60mph at a push. When I try and put the accelerator to the floor it feels like the car is slowing down... When I accelerate off now it is very slow so it sounds like the Turbo is screwed...

One thing to point out, is I've heard some loud whining noices when pulling off in 1st gear now and again. But it happened when I left that bar yesterday - Quite a loud one actually.

The car is under Waranty, I've only had the car for 6 months as well. It's clocked up just over 25000 miles and it's last service was at 14000 miles when I bought the thing.

Does anyone have any advice of what it could be, what I could do myself to sort it and what to say to Masterfit when I take the car to them tomorrow morning?
Hopefully the can sort the thing pretty sharpish as I'm driving to great Yarmouth next Saturday for the Football!!

    Cheers all!

I'm not too clued up on engines to be totally honest. Where would I find the Boost Hoses? I never noticed any smoke coming out of the car. But for a few months my car always sends out a blue smoke during a cold start.

Wether this counts for anything. When I went into the car this morning I revved the engine up to it's max (2500RPM) and there was a hell of a lot of blue smoke coming out the exhaust...

Needless to say, the car is now dumped in Masterfit and will book it in tomorrow! Dreading to find out what the hell it is!!

Is it possible that too much oil in the engine could screw the turbo? As I said earlier, my car was in Arnold Clark Masterfit and as far as I know - They change the oil whilst in. I'm not sure if they might have put too much oil in it?

not really possible, it's either a poor quality turbo, or one that has suffered the oil feed pipe problems..... if indeed it is the turbo..

Just off the phone to a Vehicle Technician at Masterfit and the problem is pretty major.
The Turbo is completely gubbed and will need fully replaced. They're also having to run a compression test on the engine itself to check there is no damage as some of the cylinders are not firing well. It depends how much oil managed to get into the Diesel lines.
There is a potential they may need to replace the engine!!! Also the exhaust system may need to be replaced as well...

Christ... Didn't think it'd be that bad! Thank god for the warrantee!
