Default Are all vectra c shocks the same?

I have just had my rear shocks replaced under the network Q warenty and wondered if the shocks are the same for all models. The reason I ask is I have just done a 300 mile trip today on mainly motorways and noticed at high speeds the car seems softer and to wallow more than it did before. The car is an 19cdti sri and I wondered if they have fitted the wrong shocks?

i am sure that sri shock's should be slightly shorter and stiffer than other one's, being as they are supposed to be 15mm lower than the other model's that they produce ........

On yours, an SRi, it will have different dampers (shorter and stiffer) to the other models. If they've fitted the other type then that would give those symptoms.

What exactly did they replace? Just the dampers or the springs too?

EDIT: Do you have an invoice with part numbers?

As far as I know they just replaced the dampers. It was done under warranty so no invoice or paper work. Would I be able to tell which damper they have fitted by looking at it, e.g is a part number visible?

You may be able to see a part number on them if you're lucky and one of them has the sticker facing outwards. If you can get a number then we can tell you what they fitted.

Just tried that but my head won't fit between the wheel and the arch. Will get the jack out in the morning and have a proper look and if I find a part number will post up.

    Three ways round this...
First is to ask the dealership to print out the invoice and parts list, however they may decline in which case ask to view it on screen and make a note of the part numbers yourself
Second, if the above is refused, contact Retailer Warranties directly (see your Network Q policy booklet for the phone number) advise them of the problem, and ask them to supply the part numbers so that you can check if the right parts have been supplied
Third, visit the parts department and ask if they can check what shock absorbers were ordered and supplied that day, most likely yours will be the only ones!
Finally, check those part numbers against what should be on your car, from the parts department by checking against your VIN

For each MY type of the Vectra there are normally four types of shock absorber
    basic - saloon/hatch
    basic - estate
    sports - saloon/hatch
    sports - estate
