Cam belt interval for Z1.8XE

Can anyone tell me what the interval is for changing the cam belt on a 55 plate facelift 1.8 Vectra with the Z18XE engine? I thought it was at 60K but the VX dealer have just told me it's 40K. The car has done 47K!
Also can you tell me a rough price as VX want £250!

thats about the right price..and yes, 40K is the best mileage ( realistically ) to get it changed at.. they did have a nasty habit of snapping when the reccomended interval of 80K....

yep, £250 is far cheaper than a bust belt and a wrecked cylinder head..

Go independant and save cash. The belt and tensioner kit is about £60 all in. It aint that difficult to do either.

Official recommendation is 6 yrs / 60,000 miles for the Z18XE engine
