noticing something similar with mine basically feels like the clutch isnt fully down annd the gears are just notchy. i might try a gearbox oil change and put in some higher spec oil but i really cant see it making much of a difference, this is probably my biggest gripe with my car trying to change gears quickly is just not fun just feels like its ripping the cogs apart.

I have this problem with my 54 plate signum design, when I pull away in 1st and rty to put it into 2nd, I have to be so girly and delicate or it screams and grinds away like I dont have the clutch down at all. It's really embarrassing if I time it wrong, look like a right newbie!

Not had that trouble, the gearbox could be better though.
Check the clutch is bled correctly, uses the same reservoir as the brakes

I've always thought that was the biggest letdown on my car. A reasonably swift change from 1st to 2nd feels like I'm crunching it into gear!

Tried getting the clutch bled but it didn't make any difference. I would lubricate the linkages but haven't got a clue how to!

It does feel as if the clutch isn't fully released though.

Mines not quite so bad, I would say more notchy than crunchy but it is a bit of a let down, especially when you have a Corsa/Astra as a loan car and the gear change is smooth as silk.

surely there has to be something the stealers can do about this issue. Think about it. say about 40,000 miles of the gears being crunched non stop.... how good will the gearbox be then.im gonna give the dealership a call during the week if they are open and see if there is anything that can be done for this.
