Since I bought my '55 150 cdti Vec in Oct 07 I have had TWO EGR Valves, an OSF wheel bearing, an anti roll bar drop link, a strange rotational rumbling noise that is as we speak being diagnosed and a spectacular failure yesterday.....
I was driving to work and the engine management light came on so I popped in to my local stealers for a chat. They were great! The Tech II came out and they read the code as generator light fault (dashboard). No light was on so they sent me on my way to return on Friday to get sorted.
I carried on to work and after about a mile on came the battery light an the dash. Once I got to work I switched off the engine and tried to switch it back on.... Yep, you've already guessed... flat battery!! Got a jump start, and headed back down to the stealers.
On the way back down to town the following lights came on... TC, Abs and then the power steering warning on the display followed shortly after by complete physical failiure of that too!!
Got to the stealers and they couldn't have been more helpful and sympathetic!! Once I explained that I needed my car as my missus is 37 weeks pregnant they boosted my car to the top of the job list and sorted a courtesy car straight away... Top job then to Davidsons of Morpeth!!
Now I just hope they can fix it!!
I just hope that I haven't bought one of those cars that I have nothing but trouble with! It's ok now as it's under warranty but after september.....
I had a Vec 'B' for four years and all I had to do to it was put two tyres, a spring and an anti roll bar drop link on it... A great car!!
