    Default Drivers door keeps "clunking"

When I open the drivers dooor of my Signum, if I open it more than half way, I hear a clunck noise. It is the same when I close it. If I only open it a bit and not to half way, no noise, Any ideas anyone ?

Sounds like the check straps - little bar type things on the hinge edge that stop the door opening too far - need a bit of greasing.

Sorry to , but mine does the same.

To be honest it dont bother me but just curious as to what causes this clunk?

It opens and closes fine, its just something I noticed?

Would a bit of grease sort it?

    over....normal service can be resumed!

Normally if you tighten it up the noise goes away (big torx bit required)

You need quite a lot of grease, and apply it as soon as you start hearing the noise - don't put up with it just because it's just a noise - untreated it will get worse and the door check strap will break within the door, leaving you with a door that doesn't stay open. This is a VERY common problem on Omegas, and although it's less frequent on Vectras due to GM (somewhat) learning from their mistakes, if you've started to hear the noise then you're already closer to having a broken check strap than you would want to be, so take action now.
