Default Why did you not go for a Vectra this time around?

On looking through a fair few threads, it's plain to see that some people have no longer got a Vectra and have decided to go for something else. More to the point, a lot of these people still contribute to the site.

I was just wondering why these people have jumped ship from Vectra ownership, do they miss their Vectras and is their new car what they hoped it would be?

People change cars for all sorts of reasons, more kids so need 7 seats or need a smaller more economical car.

The fact that people still continue to use this forum shows that users are a friendly bunch and the people have made it a good forum to hang out in.

i think people change their cars alot more frequently than in the past. and i guess it's only natural to want to try something new.

i think alot of people will find themselves back in a vauxhall once the insignia has been released and the depreciation has taken a good bite out of the asking price.

and as above, people stick around because this one of the friendlies,l helpful and least b itchy forums around.

Both Points accepted and there is no doubt forum is one of the friendliest, money saving and helpful. But there are some members that have changed and just thought it would be a good discussion to get behind the reason for their buying decisions. Sometines the car decision is not purely the kids and 7 seat thing???

I have to agree with the prev comments about this forum, its excellent.

up until last weekend I did not own a Vectra C. I have been looking for a car for a couple of months, & having had 2 vectras in succession before this one I was looking at other cars as i just fancied a change...also thought of having a smaller car as most of the time its just me in it, & of course fuels getting more & more expensive.
In the end I think it came down to pounds shillings & pence, & what you get for your money. If I could have found the right model Focus at the right price I would have been v tempted, esp as my wife drives the car as well & its smaller/easier for her to drive/park.

there are even some of us on here that dont own vectras but are going to buy one

its nice to join a car forum thats as stocked full of content as this. There are other forums that are as nice as this, but none of them are as busy as this.

This site is a godsend for people like me who know nothing about cars. The friendliness and helpfulness of folks on here is what makes it so good.

Having a Zafira now goes without saying KIDS were the reason. There isn't enough room for me to drive a Vectra with a kiddie seat behind me. Plain & simply that's it although now it is far easier putting kids in the back without bending right down & clouting you head.
I wouldn't say it's the best or the "Cleverfamily car" Vauxhall make them out to be but as a 5 seat family car it's great.
Yes I miss the Vectra and had major withdrawls the other warm summers evening I drove past a lovely black pre face lift SRI with HID headlights on & it looked the nuts (for some reason I prefer the pre face lift). No doubt I'll have another one considering what they're worth now second hand let alone in a few yearstime when I can ditch the kidde seats.

Why do I stick around? Simple really. Really nice crowd and probably the most sensible as forums go although I have seen photos of what goes on at shows
