    confused Signum CDTI 150 Judder

    Hi
    I have a signum 150cdti with 50k on it.
I have hade the manifold replaced under waranty, swirlvalve failure.
I recently fitted a Caterman box and seems to be good.
Only problem is when the car is warm and I drive on part throttle is seems to Judder/ miss fire. There are no problems when I boot it only on part throttle arround 2-3k rpm, no spanner lights present.
When I remove the box it seems to go away, become less .
Has anyone else had the same problem.
    Any advice would be welcome.
    Thanks
    wade

    EGR valve I reckon.

There's a good How2 for cleaning it on here if it's out of warranty, otherwise get it back into the dealer for them to do it.

So what happens if you unfit the caterman box & go for a drive ?? If the problem is still there, then the box is not to blame, Undo the last change first to help with diagnosis.

My understanding is that the Caterman and most tuning boxes increase fuel supply / pressure. So when under low RPM but under load the car may be over fueling a little. If this is the case it just means you have to change down a gear to raise the rpm or boot it!.

Not sure if this helps or not but that is my understanding. Downside of more fuel / pressure.

Anyone else had this issue with tuning box fitted?

I have had some lurching anf juddering with boxes in some setups, changing the level on the box has sorted it though in the past. If you have an adjustable box then have a twidle and see if it goes.

I must admit mine has done this a few times (kinda a littel stutter as it were). I put it down to crap diesel so have ran on V power diesel for a while, doesn't seem to happen with that in. (neither should it for the cost!)

Yeah, some bad diesel will do that with mine, especially as mine's a little tweaked so doesn't like bad diesel at all. A bit of Millers Power Sport 4 lashed in usually cures the issue.

Had the car in to Vauxhall today.
They have replaced the EGR and said to see if that cures it.
They did say that the problem I had is know about by VX Tech and they are waiting for a software update to be released to fix it.

My 150cdti did this with my DTUK tuning box. Even sometimes on cruise control at 70mph. As if I lifted my foot off for a second. It gradually got worse, so I removed the box. Problem went away. My thinking is that the tuning box put strain on the fuel system, highlighting/creating a problem. If I wanted a fast car - I wouldn't have bought a vectra. It is not that slow/bad standard(127k miles).
