    Default CD30 - Stealers says back order??

    Hi

    What are your thoughts....

    went in over two weeks ago, to report my faulty CD30 unit, after a bit of a chat they agreed to get it replaced under warranty.. as the car is only 8 months old.

    they advise is around two weeks for delivery..NP..

    Rang to chase them up, got what i think is the service manager.. he didnt know anything about the order or my car... then he said rather sheepish its still hasnt come in, asked for details again and said ring again next week.

    Got a call today, saying is another 10 Days.. a month for a standard CD30 unit!!... IS THIS RIGHT?
    They say VX have a back order... why so many units have failed??
    or are they taking the .... and forgot to order it and they are waiting for delivery.

    Does anyboby know if there in stock or if there is a shortage of CD30 units?

    cheers lads... & lasses..

    what it will be is a recon'd unit....thats what i've had fitted twice now under warranty to our cars.. they don't fit 'new' units, but you'll never tell the difference..

    10 days is smalltime TBH, I had to wait 3 MONTHS to get a CCR2006 for the wifes )" plated car in 2004....they just never seem to keep stock..

    10 days? Pah!

    I've been waiting since the first week in May (about 8 weeks now) for a replacement alloy wheel that only takes 7-10 days to arrive...

    Thats cos they are so 5h17 they never get a chance to get worn out, have it and then yank it out and stick a Kenwood in it's place, you won't regret it.

    Interesting, never new they used recon units. Had my CD30 replaced under warranty, didn't think for a second that they'd use recon units. The things you learn!!!!!!

    Yes mate,

    Press "CD" button until Random is displayed on the your car display.

    Use left or right action on the 4 way round rocker switch to activate or deactivate random function.

    Left= Activate Random Playback

    Right= Deactivate random Playback

    A month is nothing now!
    The CD player on my previous Vectra B had to be removed and replaced
    I waited six weeks and was without it for 8 days
    Thankfully, I was given the same unit back, so I suspect the dealership actually got authority to send it to a local agent

    However, Ford is a different matter
    I waited 14 months and I got so fed up I wrote a final demand direct to Ford
    The following week I got phone call asking me to book it in and they fitted a brand new unit, even the dealership said they were surprised when it arrived as they still had a few customers who had been waiting longer than 15 months, only those where the unit had failed completely were having them replaced in under 6 months!
