Default inlet manifold again?? surely not

Hi Guys,as posted on here sometime back I had my Inlet manifold replaced on my Siggy 1.9cdti after initially coming up with the "repair for a quid" which worked well for 6k miles.
It was changed at 82k and now done 113k and the dreaded spanner light and limp mode has started to reoccur today under exactly same circumstances i.e cruising at 70 and then limp mode which is what it did before with old design manifold!!
Had a look and the linkage is still in place so not that and she's been idling lumpy at times over the last two weeks which it did before! Please some one tell me its not the ****** manifold again!!
did notice that there were some splits in the small vac hoses at the front of the engine, maybe that could be it??
as usual will be very grateful for any ideas before venturing to the stealers!

TBH, it could be so many things.. i'd be surprised if it was the manifold again thou.. a session on a code reader is really whats needed, but if you've got split hoses they will need fixing first..

    Default inlet manifold

It was replaced 15th November last year so as I paid some towards it i reckon should be still under warranty 12 months on parts is it??
done 30k miles though since then!
would'nt have thought new design manifold would pack up after 30k of mostly motorway drivin?

if the part was fitted by a VX agent and you paid then you should receive a warranty on it..all you can do is ask..

have you had it diagnosed yet?..

    Hi Ya,
Not had it looked at yet as the old girl is stuck at Manchester airport as I have had to fly out to Ireland on a job!
The job was done back in November last year at VX dealers in sheffield and interestingly one of their guys told me I should always pay something toward a repair as that way I have some come back cos if VX pay for it all they can say tough!
    So paid 20% for manifold.
Now I have just remembered that I did the old EGR cleaning jobby 2 months ago following the guide on here which worked wonders but what if i did something wrong? what happens if ,say the EGR valve gets stuck shut? would this cause a fault code and hence limp mode?
just wondering? will whip it off again when I get home and it is the original EGR which has now done 113k miles!

    Cheers GSi,

Will report back on findings,it is a bit of a coincidence that this has happened so soon after playing around with the EGR which was in a terrible state!

    Default sorted prob

well sorted the prob guys and it turned out to be a small vac hose on top of the vac pump, it had split round the back where I couldn't see it!
new bit of hose and no more spanner lights and limp!
still got a slight prob though and thats this slightly lumpy idle at start up either hot or cold only lasts for about ten seconds and if ya drive off straight away I dont even see it, its odd? and other than that the old girl drives like new even with 114k on the clock.
