Ok, having thoughts...
I've got just over a year left in the RAF, and my current plans (if I'm sucessful...) will take me to New Zealand for 14 months learning to fly. Obviously at that point I'll sell my car, but given the way the market is at the moment it wouldn't be worth much, even if it is a popular model (1.9 150 SRi...)
It'll be paid off in about 6 months, but is taking a third of my salary every month as I only bought it a year ago. Now, two things have happened in the past few days to make me rethink things a bit...
Firstly, my best mate took me out for a spin in his dad's Chysler Crossfire:
(I'd just spent a few horus detailing it...)
Now, I don't like the look of the car on the outside or inside (I can barely fit into it...) but I've never been in something that had a V6 engine (apart form a VW minibus...) and my god does it shift... Whenever I get to 4000 rpm in my diesel I generally change gear - in this thing it was halfway through the range and gave it more beans as it carried on...
Second, I saw that Pricey had made the switch to a stunning V6 Signum (ok, so I'm a little bit jealous...)
I've had quite a few Vectra B's in the past, and now I'm thinking I might go back there. I can sell my Vectra C as it is, and with the difference between what I owe on it and the cost of a 2.6 Vectra CDX, I'd end up owing nothing, instead of paying off another 3 grand over the next 6 months. Fuel usage would be much higher, but petrol is cheaper, I'd be paying a lot less on the car each month, and could save it instead for when I leave the RAF. Plus, as Pricey says, you only live once...

Lots of things I'd miss about the C, but the B has a few things it doesn't, and I know they're good cars...
Any thoughts appreciated...
