Check the VXL web site. I'm sure it says 5W-30 for all Vec Cs. The 10W-40 is only listed for Vec Bs

If the people who designed, developed and built the car say 5w-30, WHY on earth would you use something different???

The 5w 30 is a better oil, it's fully synthetic as opposed to semi for 10w 40, plus it works better straight from start up and should last approx twice as long as 10w 40. But it's all down to opinion, people will tell you different things and different reasons why they choose there oil. If you drive hard and do a lot of miles then i'd say stick to 5w 30 but if you do use the 10w 40 as said before change after 10k...............
