    Default Steering rack leaking

My '03 1.8 club went into the dealers for the handbrake recall, and came out with a leaking steering rack and play in one of the steering arms.
It was marked as advisory, they weren't specific, and they didn't seem to be in any rush to get me to part with my cash, so can the steering rack be repaired, or will it be a new rack?
    Thanks in advance.

New rack I'm afraid if it's definitely leaking, but you can get exchange racks which sre significantly cheaper.

I had mine replaced last year and the rack (taking into account exchanging the old one) cost me £315 (although I got it at trade price) and the dealer did me a good deal on the labour to fit it (£150) so all in it was £465 - so yes, best part of £500 if you can get those prices.
