Un-adopted Road

HERES ONE FOR THE BOYS IN BLUE? can i drive a terminal tractor+45' trailer on an un adopted road, ie a road on an industrial estate not adopted by local authoraties (yet) but accesable to the general public(not security gated) with no tax+ins not realy a road going vehicle, but with the land owners permission?????

Doesn't matter if it's unadopted AFAIK. Unless it's private land you need license, tax & insurance,

If the public have access you're going to need some form of public liability (in the form of licence and insurance).

the company will have public liability ins and its private land also i have the correct license,but as its the main entrance road for the work force and agency also sub contract trucks i was wondering do the rules of the road apply cos its not got tax,road ins and not in the scope for mot?? me dosent want old bill to slap my wrist or more!.

Road or place to which the public have access is a biggy in the Road Traffic Act now.

yea i thought it might be sailing close to the wind? its mainly moving 1/2 doz trailers onto the road to create space but i would'nt like to think id get points for it, think ill tell them ill give it a miss to be sure!!
