Default Aerial not working with aftermarket headunit

    Hi,

I've got a Fakra aerial adapter on my vectra c but the aerial appears to be dead. The adapter has 2 leads on the output side; the normal long aerial bullet and a tiny single wire clip. Should I be using this for anything?

I think the aerial has an amplifier fitted, try a 12v feed to the small lead that should make it work.

Fantastic thanks. I did suspect that, but didn't want to blow it up!

No probs, just fit a low amp fuse to start with,as you say you don't want it going pop!

Should any 12v source do? ie, can I tap it from the headunit loom?

Yep the best one would be the power aerial lead from the new h/u,then it's only powered up when needed.
