    Default Tilt or Slide

Should i Tilt my sunroof, or Slide it tomorrow when i go to get my newspaper?
Thought this might be an exciting lively debate poll, but i was torn between what pot noodle you like, or the great debate between mature canadian cheddar and Kraft cheese singles

Perhaps not one for the Car Chat section eh?, methinks a move to the Off Topic room may be in order.

I feel, all things considered, that tilting would be the preferable method of ventilation in this instance. Given the nation's tendency towards summer precipitation, and the likely early hour of your sojourn to the local ameneties, sliding a sunroof could cause a raft of potential disasters.

Just consider, if you will, the terminal consequences of dew drippage or even the aforementioned precipitation upon your crisp, unread daily tabloid. Or, just as saddening, the disarray of said tabloid that an errant gust of wind through a fully open sunroof would create.

Paul makes some very good points there but has to be fully open for me. Get your money's worth.

In fact wind it back and lock it that position for all journeys. You'll get wet but people will nod in an understanding and somewhat reverential way when you point towards the sunroof by way of explanation as you wring 6 hours rain out of your jeans.

You are quite right, my copy of The Sun does get rather fluttered by the turbulence created by the slide, whereas the drag and aerodynamics of a tilt leave one's tabloid in a distinctively quintessential reading status.

I miss the sunroof, it lost it's place in the team due to aircon arriving for the masses, my mate got a CDTI est last yr and he spec'd the roof as well, when I get in for a chat it reminds me of the hot summer nights drive on the motorway with it half open.
