Which kind of implied you were expecting it to unlock AND open, rather than just unlock. It doesn't open, so it's working fine. It's not supposed to open as well

Does that not suggest he is expecting it to pop open and is thinking something may be wrong because it is unlocking it only? If not why bother mentioning that it isn't popping it open? If he knew that it doesn't pop open when you unlock it with the key fob then why mention it?

In the (out of context) quote you've put there, it does sound like (David) is asking in a way as if he has a problem and thinks the boot should pop open - however if you go back and look at the post history his was a reply to the OP about his question, and David's reply was saying that pushing the button unlocks the boot, but doesn't physically pop it open. It was a reply to a question, not a question itself.

What does the 3rd button on my normal key do? I have pressed it but it did not seem to do anything. I also tried to pop the boot from inside the car from the drivers side but it just beeped.

if you wait ten minutes after pressing it - the boot opens and it takes all your shopping out.................what u like.......
