Z20NET is what is in the 2.0T Vecra/Signum. As for conversion, it's the CanBus that could give you a lot of ballache with any engine swap in these cars.

Might be cheaper just to put that money towards another car and get the engine you want.

Or if you can get hold of a Z20NET the parts are supposed to be directly transferable to the Z22SE, but again the CANbus could be a PITA.

wat kinda problems cud i run into with the canbus?? r is it impossible to say?? cant reali afford to change the car,

the problem i hav is that i thnk my engine is coming to the end of the road, theres a rattle in it, which i thought was the chain again, but after a quick luk from a mechanic the chain is 100%, well it only went in bout 15k ago, mechanic said the noise was comin frm the back of the engine an lowish down, came up with the idea that it may be the balancing shaft????? its also using oil, an most importantaly it has 170,000 miles on it, so with the high miles and rattle i dnt think it would be worth much to sell it

so i thought bout changin the engine, been lukin around for a good low mile engines but nt easy got, can get a few 2l turbos though, so thought maybe go for that, ones would tell me that its a more reliable engine and mpg is similar???

lol thought bout a supercharger but they cost sum money!! lol, plus i wud need a good engine to put it on lol

Seeing as your current engine is tired, why not have a rebuild, with a bit of work on the head, new cam, might not have the outright power of the turbo, but could still be a lot o fun

You can delete the balancer shafts for instant umph. You can SC the 2.2 but not in the Vec C apparently, the Canbus card is played again im afraid.

Just my slang for power. You can get a kit to get rid of the balencer shafts and chain. They rob about 10 bhp so instant power increace.

I wonder if it would be possible to "trick" the canbus into working (ie allow it to think a standard engine was in place) and running a different engine on a motorsport type ECU/computer setup?

    (think throttle bodies!)
