    Default VXR Track Day Instructors.....

Having been on a 'few' VXR track days now, I've noticed something about the instructors.

For those that havent been on a VXR track day yet (why !!)... the format is you have about 24 cars in the pit lane, each with its own instructor sat in the passenger seat. You simply walk up to the car, get in, buckle up and drive.

During your drive, the instructor will give you hints and tips about your driving....

However, I've noticed that this 'instruction' can vary substantially... depending on the instructor.

    Here some examples....

    Example 1
Instructor 1 - "Brake deep into this corner before turning in....."
    Same Corner.....
Instructor 2 - "Turn in... (much earlier than above)..."

    Example 2
Instructor 1 - "Brake before this corner...."
    Same Corner.....
Instructor 2 - "Dont brake for this corner.... turn in hard"

    Example 3
Instructor 1 - "Turn in at the cone...."
    Same Corner.....
Instructor 2 - "Turn in well before the cone, as its a better line...."

So, it can be completely hit and miss depending who's sat by the side of you....

Has anyone else had this experience ?

EDIT: However, I have learned lots and it has been beneficial... and having driven all the VXR range... the Vectra VXR is still my favorite by far !!

I have to agree with what you've said above. There was a huge difference with the guidance given at Brands. The instructor in the Meriva was excellent, talked through each corner, explaining how to load the weight for different bends, talking about the best gear to be in, yet the lady in the Astra seemed bored to be there and didn't say much, then the bloke in the VXR8 chose different lines to everyone else (poss due to RWD).

But as you said, a great experience, one I hope to repeat.

I think it's down to natural style myself, anyway best way round I think is to always go the way the steering needs least turning.
