does anyone know how to check the throttle position sensor for faults using a multimeter, like what voltages i should be getting from what wires as i have got a good flat spot when the throttle is lightly pressed which seems to make the car kangaroo could this be the fault i wonder? ...the car went into vxl yesterday for diagnostics and no codes found

Does it kangeroo if the cruise control buttons are used to accelerate?

Standard sensors are really just a potentiometer and gives an analogue output. If it is the same on Vec, the output is usually between 0 and 5 volts depending on position. I seem to think that 0 volts is WOT.

They would be easy to check on the vehicle, if you can get to the wiring, but I don't know which wire is the signal wire. You could easily find out though by using your multimeter and changing the acc pedal position.. It maybe that it needs a clean.
