    Default What they like....

What are Vectra C's like for rust? I know on a few Vectra B's I had the rear arches used to get a bit, and near the rear door catches on the Vectra B. This is my first Vectra C coming soon, so I want to know if they have sorted out the problem with the rear arches and rear door catches. I know I will have to keep on top of mine with polish and stuff with it being red, as I don't want it to go a pinky colour like my old Astra Gsi mk3 that was red.

    Rust !!

The only part that regularly rusts on my car is the brake discs... but a swift blast up the road gets rid of that

Can't see there being any problems plus the arches have no lip for crap to sit in.

Thats what I like to hear . I knew they had a much thinner lip on the arch. Do the red Vec C's faid in the sun like the older Vauxhalls in red? I will do my best to keep on top of mine when I get it soon. Cheers

I hope the door inners are well waxed because there could be a potential rot point when they get older. My C (and I know others are the same) retains water in the bottom inner of the doors, the water that passes through the bottom window seal does not escape through door bottom drain holes, when the car is stationary, due to the sound deadning rubber strips that mate up with the door bottoms when closed. If after heavy rain, I open the door after the car is been stationary during a heavy downpour, there is a flood of water from the bottom door drain holes. I posted a thread about this a couple of years ago on this forum.
