    Default Signum Pulling to Left/Vibration

    Hello All

New to the forum after buying a 16,000 miles 07 Signum Elegance 120 three months ago. It has been pulling to the left at any speed since I bought it and since having two new NCT 5s on the front the steering wheel vibrating at around 75 mph.
Suspecting tracking and balancing as the problem I took advantage of National Tyres offer of a four wheel alignment and balancing check for £44 thinking this would solve it. It is now probably a bit worse than before, still pulling and now vibrating earlier at around 70mph with the vibration being felt through the steering wheel and through the floor.
It is going back to be rechecked but wondered if anyone had similar experiences - I have read on here that they are sensitive to balancing but not much about tracking problems so wondering whether I should take it to VX to get the suspension and steering checked over.

    Default

I replaced two NCT5's (I put Goodyear Excellence's on), put the new ones on the back and put the back's on the front - vibration was a nightmare! Had them balanced twice and things were slightly better but I replaced the remaining NCT5's with Excellence's with standard balancing and the vibration has totally gone!

You could try swopping the wheels over (backs to the front etc) and see if that helps.

    Unhappy Steering Pull

Both my Omega and Signum 2.2 (both network Q at 6 months) had `left pull' problems. This was much reduced by getting a 4 wheel 'full geometry' check on a `Hunter' £20000 alignment machine. In the case of the Signum, both rear wheels had `right lock' on them. driving the back of the car to the middle of the road .... However in France the Signum drifts slightly to the right even now - I just don't think GM are very good at designing for compensating for road camber. (A Rover we have you can drive up and down the camber, and road crown, and it steers straight !)

    Default Steering Pull ....

An afterthought - at Hemel Hempstead where my Signum was aligned, there was a 3 month old Astra behind me - from the local Evans Halshaw main dealer, and complete with a Vauxhall mechanic. Ring around in your local area to see who has a Hunter machine.
