When you fill your car up with fuel (petrol cars especially) does it feel quicker with a full tank ??

I'll let you know why I ask once I've gathered some feedback...

Never noticed TBH. I can't see it being any quicker with a full tank because of the extra weight though.

strangely i feel it makes a slight difference in actually going quicker....where as you would think slightly slower with the extra weight .....but i guess that dont apply as we are not GP cars lol

It isn't just because you've got full tank and know you can put the boot down for a few miles without having to worry

Well.... I'm going to quote someone from another forum, which I though you guys might also find of interest....

    Here's what he said...

"I was speaking to a person that works within the Petroleum industry and he was pointing out some interesting information regarding T99 and V-Power. Both these fuels have a shelf life before the octane rating lowers back down to 95 Ron. Apparently T99 has a shelf life of 5 days before it begins to lower in octane, whereas V-Power has a shelf life of 8 days. Interestingly enough though both will eventually return to 95 Ron.

He also pointed out that unless a pump states Premium Unleaded (or shows the 95 Ron mark), the station are actually allowed to sell unleaded at 93 Ron."

So, your car could actually be faster when you fill up because the fuel is literally fresher !!...... couple of weeks in the tank and it could loose its Octane rating, so would be slower the longer its left sitting around....

So if thats the case how long does it take from when the fuel is first made at 99ron to get to the pump's & is it stiil 99ron when you fill up cause it's stored at a depot before it goes to a station?

Very interesting. Does this mean that GB will give us a tax cut. If the fuels out of date. I think not.
