    Default armrest rattle

The centre armrest (two-part lid) in my Veccie is rattling occasionally at higher speeds on uneven roads. The rattle goes away when I put my hand on lid. I've also noticed that during rattling the armrest vibrates. Console itself is quite steady.

Anyone got a fix for this?

mine did the same except it was more or a plastic rubbing on plastic noise. sprayed some wd40 around the hinge area and the noise has gone!

Thanks for the tip. I did some further research, and it seems that the handbrake lever and console are the source of this rattle. There is virtually no gap between them, so occasionally they'll contact. I'll try to find some velcro-tape, similar that is in place in the seatbelt lock, hopefully that will stop the rattle.

Still some rattle... comes from the upper part of the lid. If I drive with lid open like in the pic, there is no rattle! But how to dismantle the lid?

Is it possible to remove the upper part from the hinges (red circles), and are the sides possible to dismantle (blue arrow)?

Well it helped me fix my armrest rattle.........A blinking 1 pence piece that someone had slid in ! Prior owners kids I would think.
And almost an hour trying to get the top to fit back on.
I still don't know how it clipped back in, but it did !
