    Default Not impressed!

I took a day off work yesterday, because our gas meter was due to be changed. We had received a letter saying that it had come to the end of it's useful life & they would be coming yesterday to replace it.

They never gave a time on the letter, just sometime during the day.

I waited in all day, in the end I rang them at 5.30pm to find out what was going on.

I was told that the job had been cancelled after the original letters had been sent out & I should have received a letter about the cancellation.

They didn't have any more info as they only deal with the meters.

So not impressed, day's wages missed, no meter changed & no idea when job will be done.

Sorry for the rant, just ****ing annoyed

I had the same with BT twice to install a new line. First time I took a day of work, they never turned up, phoned them up, they said the appointment had been cancelled and i should have got a letter which i didnt get. Had a go at them saying that I had lost a days wage blah blah blah, the girl on the other end of the line was very apologetic and said my account would be credited with £50 for the inconvenience it caused me. Second time exactly the same, no cancelation letter or anything, phoned them up threatening to cancel the instalation and said that I will go with Virgin media, she put me on hold for 5 mins then came back and said they would credit my account with £75 this time and send an engineer out to me the next day. Result really because I didnt lose any wage just 2 days holiday.

    Ian,

They don't advertise it but they do offer evening appointments if you ask so you don't need to take time off work.

Hit them with a loss of earnings claim Ian, you already have them admitting you didn't get a letter to say it'd been cancelled.

Not to worry Ian, Use it to Play COD4 all day - you need the time to improve your game after the other night
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
