    Engine : 2.2 DTi

Default Oh No....Water Leaking into Boot!

As titled, opened the boot the other day to find the boot carpet soaking wet, but only in one spot. My guess is its coming through the rubber seal on the frame, but I can't see any fault with it

I'll do a water test with a hose when I clean the car later this week, but does any one know/experianced ware & tear on this rubber and if so how much a replacement would be?

    Thanks in advance!

I used to have a similar problem on a Vectra-B, the R-reg type ones, it was my rubber that was knackered and I managed to get one from a scrapyard for a fiver, did the trick.

Im thinking your problem was similar and if so, rubbers for the Vectra-C should be easily available from a local scrappy now?

Mine had 2 splits in it, one where the tailgate met with the rear light area, and one near to the roof line.

    HTH.

I think Andy Loom had problems with his boot aperture seal resulting in a wet boot carpet.

I had water leaking in the boot via the ariel mount but that bypassed the carpet and just collected in the spare wheel well so maybe not the same as yours.

It could also come through the rear lights.

i had it running in via the holes under the SRi rear spoiler .. VX hadn't sealed it properly..

All i can reccomend chris, is that you remove all the boot trim and run a hosepipe over the car.. that'll tell you where the water is coming in..
