    Default Overrated Band Components

Think of a group that is/has been famous, then think of the one member who you consider to be weak at his craft, this doesn't mean that person's style hampered the band in any way, my 1st example....

    Jim Morrison - The Doors

The band had a great sound, but Jim wasn't what I call a good singer vocally, what he was was a part of the group and his style helped make the Doors sound, but as far as actual vocal talent went imo he didn't have a lot.

    Opinions?

    Other's?

Wham - Andrew Ridgely! Didn't write anything, didn't play the guitar (only pretended IIRC) and did he even sing?

The hell it is! lol Didn't like 'em when I was a teenage and certainly have no 'retro' liking for them now. I have to admit that once GM went solo he did pop out a good few numbers here and there.

    Ozzy Osbourne - Black Sabbath

Again an integral part of the early Sabbath sound, but a terrible singer, replacements all had better vocal ranges.

Yea but Sabbath were never the same once Ozzy departed IMO. For me, the best album post Ozzy, was 'Dehumanizer' with Ronnie James Dio at the front.

Phil Collins wasn't the greatest singer in the world, hell he wasn't even a singer at all he was a drummer, but he's a great example of someone who stood up to do the job, and with his own style and personality is probably now the best known of Genesis' front men, and even made a solo career
