Default My First Vec C (Salvage Project)

Today I bought a Vectra C Sri 2.2. It's been crashed damaged but thats how I buy all my motors, as some of you might know . Now the thing is do I new shape front end it or leave it standard? I have just got rid of my Astra Sri 2.2 as I wanted a bigger family car, more room and stuff. I can't wait to get my hands on it, and drive it . Whats the spec like on these like? Looking forward to spending more time on here and maybe getting myself to some local meets . I now need to locate some front end parts. Cheers

Looks like quite a tidy motor "apart from the little dent" Seeing as you have to re-do the front end anyway I'd do a facelift.
Not sure how hard it is to find all the bit's. Glynn on here is currently doing it I'm sure he will advice.
    Good luck with it all.

I like the bigger Irmscher grill on the facelift models, so I am defo thinking about doing the new shape front end conversion . This model is a 52 plate with 60k on the clock

    looks like a good project..

don't forget that as well as fitting the new dash ( to get rid of the airbag damage) you'll also have to stump up £500 to get the airbag controller changed and programmed..

i'd stick with prefacelift parts as they are much cheaper to get.. spec is good and the 2.2 petrol is a gem on an engine...

hopefully the front crash beam stopped before the radpack...

i did my brothers vectra after a similar front end tap for £400 but that one didn't fire the bags so it was quite easy ( used prefacelift parts as it's 53 plate)

    yep, red one's are rare....

if you can, try and get a complete rad pack.. if the AC cooler is bent , you can bet the engine rad has suffered too..

You can get the airbag module reprogammed, check out ebay (about £60) and have a look at www.airbagsforsale.com

Just pray that it is dual phase airbags and not single phase airbags (single plug) as these are extemely rare and you would struggle. Rocking horse poo springs to mind. Thinking of it I might have and Airbag module laying about, let me have the part number and Ident code (two capital letters on the unit) when you are ready.

Take out the glovebox and have a look at the passage airbag, will have one or two plugs on it

My mate has a Vauxhall software thing on his laptop, he could take my light off for me . Infact I am sure he may have a rad for me if I am lucky.

Not possible, once the unit it deployed it cannot be reused. You cannot just turn the light off. Either it has to be sent away or replaced £300 or there abouts
