Default Holy Cow 353 lb/ft of Torque!!

BSR have just announced that the Saab 2.8T V6 can be remapped to produce 285bhp with 353 lb/ft of torque!!

    Isn't an Evo around 320??

    http://www.bsrab.se/product_news/20/

So I guess the VXR is going to be pretty quick using this!!

I noticed that when I was looking at the BSR site earlier!

Same thought sprung to mind - wonder when they'll do the Vx/Opel version!!!

My next car could very well be a Vectra VXR Estate with a BSR remap!!

I've been trying to figure this out: Is the Holden 2.8T V6 that's used in Saab's the same as the one used in Vectras?

Yes, the 2.8T V6 in the Saab is the same as in the Vectra VXR. Any Holden model with a 2.8T V6 I'd expect is also the same unit.

I just wasn't sure whether Opel used the Holden engine or if it was different...

Yeah, they're made at Holden's engine plant in Port Melbourne - not too far away. Funny thing is though, you can't buy a Holden-badged car with that engine. VZ Commodore's come with two different 3.6L versions, but neither have a turbo

Dunno whether they're available for sale here without buying a Saab or Alfa packaging it...

If Holden was too sell you one of the 2.8 V6T's it would carry a tidy little premium.

There has been some talk here about Holden finally putting one of their export type engines in the soon to be released new design Commodore. There are plenty of people who would love the 2.8T.
