Huge huge thanks to everyone who came along to cheer on Tashy and I at Tatton Park today - it was a bit windy, but the weather held out for us and stayed dry - the sun even made an appearance
We have made over £300 thanks to the amazing generosity shown to us, as always I have been blown away by everyone's kindness
We all arrived nicely on time although we did worry that one or two members had gone astray!!! (Uncle Ian even made a special second trip following yesterday's 'trial run'!!! )
We were joined by Shan, Simac, Dave and Ailsa Analyst, John, Stevel and family, Karl and Baz, as well as the errant Mr Corrie, so we had a really good turnout
Tashy and I decided to join the second group of 'walkers' rather than being committed to running all the way - we set off just after 11:05 and were packed in tightly with the crowd for the first 2k, when things finally settled down and everyone spread out a bit, allowing us to up the pace and enjoy some running through the beautiful park. Just after we hit 3k, the smug faced 'proper runners' began lapping us as they made their way round their second 5k lap!!
We did really well, alternating walking and running, and ran over the finish line to collect our medals and goody bags, before treating ourselves to the long awaiting bacon butties!!!!
We checked in at around an hour, which was pretty much what I was hoping for - I gather the first 5k runner got round in 18 minutes - show off!!!!!!
Feeling a little stiff and achey now, but nothing a good hot bath and a cup of tea won't fix - thanks to everyone who sponsored us, and who took time out to come along and cheer us on - it is greatly appreciated and we had a fab morning!!!!!!
Love Lou and Tashy xxxx
