    Default Dealers Price !!!!!

well went to the stealers today to see about getting a smaller car eg corsa,,,,, asked the guy what i would get for my 07 19cdti on 35000k, ok i no that they have there mark up and it does have high miles but it aint even been registered for a year yet will be tomorrow, wait for it 6500k, they are having a giraffe they said 7k for one with slightly less mikes but come on half the price in less than a year is taking the p**s, i would sell it for a song but not this low, i went to a indie garage looking to trade for a 325i bmw shnitzer on a 2001 plate i would have to pay 1000 of my hard earned pounds ,,,,,,,,,looks like it will be a private sale

The Vec is a great bargain on the second hand market FOR BUYERS. Never buy a new one and expect a decent trade in after 12 months

To make matters worse with yours, it does have VERY high miles m8

Why trade it in then? Given these times of uncertainty with car ownership the car you already have is the cheapest option.

That's poor m8. I was offered £7700 for my 55 reg petrol a few weeks ago. Its on ebay now and been offered £7800 by a trader. Think i might take it.

Private sale but its hard work at the mo. Have seen 06 plates on autotrader with 35k on for about £8300 ono.

I am not surprised by the offer, dealers have to make a profit. The vectra has a steep cliff like depreciation in the first year. There are just too many out there and not enough demand so great for buying. I would keep it for a couple more years.

35K miles on a car that is between 12 and 18 months old, that's pretty high and in most cases the dealership will be unable to resell that on their forecourt, so it will have to go to auction
Cars of that age will normally need to have no more than 20K miles

It might be worth taking it to auction yourself, with a reserve of £8500, and see what happens

Sell it private mate, I got 5k for my 03 plate elite 2.2dti with 78000 when i sold it a couple of months ago. Dealer only offered 3k for it. Like people have said dealers need to make a proffit on it. Where as a private individual most of of the time wont be looking to make a proffit.
