    Default DLP Projector

    Hi all,

Does anyone know anything about PC projectors? I am after a cheap one so I can project music videos, but there are so many different specs and issues

I have read that DLP is the better one to go for, but there are some issues with "rainbow colours"????

Can anyone suggest a a good model to go for that doesn't cost the earth and is suitable firstly for playing music videos in a dark room onto a lightly coloured wall and also for home cinema??

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Sorry if I’ve posted this in the wrong place!

Try picking up a mag called Active Home. They've got a test on projectors this week starting at £499.

The colour issue with DLP is only spotted by a small percentage of people, so definitely get a demo before you buy. You'll need a screen too. Wall's are OK, but screens have reflective properties that walls don't and give a better picture. You may be able to buy special paint instead, but a screen is a must. The room will need to be very dark, so budget for a blackout blind for putting up behind your curtains. Most DIY stores sell these.

Thanks for that, I'll go out the weekend and locate that magazine.

I hear what you are saying about you getting what you pay for, however as this will be used as part of a DJ set, I'm also worried about spending too much on something that could potentially get trashed by p*ss*d people!!

I guess I want the best of both worlds and it's trying to find the right compromise.

Anyway, thanks again for the replies, it has really helped me
