    Default Boost gauge

As I mentioned in this thread, I decided to get myself a boost gauge. Keep an eye on the turbo and also nice to see what boost is being delivered.

Ordered one of these from Parts for Saabs (same place I got my BSR remap from).

Ordered this mount for the moment, but would rather have something a bit neater.

Looked at A pillar mounts but the ones they had were shaped to fit quite a curved A pillar. The Vec/Signum is quite flat. I'm also not mad on A pillar dial mounts as I think they look a bit too Max Power/chavvy!

At least I can get the gauge installed and working, and worry about a mount in the future.

Has anyone come across any mounts that fit neatly in the Vec. I can't think where they would as there is bu**er all space in the dash itself for a 52mm dial gauge! It also has to be somewhere concealed,or against a trim, so that the tube going to the engine is hidden away.

    Forgot to say....

Ordered the gauge at 3pm today. Got an e-mail at 5pm saying it had been dispatched 1st Class Recorded. Should arrive tomorrow hopefully and only got charged the standard delivery.

    for PFS - excellent service.

That's different for sure! Price is on the hefty side though and it's custom made for a Golf. Not actually sure if I'd want it there TBH - although it would make the wiring/tubing much easier!

How about were the ashtray is D. you could cut a whole in it very easily. When you sell the car you can remove it and replace the ashtray. Easy peasy!

I'll have a look Alex, see if it's feasible to fit a 52mm gauge in there. Although, I'm not sure about it being so low down, taking eyes off road to look at it and all that.

I'm about to go out in the car (now back remapped and going to give it some welly ), so I'll have a look.

Doh, why is it always the case.....

Got back from an early morning business meeting to find a card from the postie for the above - only missed him by half an hour! Going to have to wait until later this morning before it's back at the depot to collect. Wanted to get it and get it fitted!

Looked at the ashtray possibility Alex - can't see it working. I need access to the Tech 2 socket under it for my remapper (and Vx as well) and I can't see how I'd get it on and be easily removable?

Aargghh, they're doing this on purpose!

Just been to the Sorting Office and the guy isn't back from his rounds so it's still out on a van. Going to head back just before they shut at 12:30!

    I will have it today!
