    Default Cop faces retrial

I see the police officer that got away with driving his Vectra at 159mph is facing a re-trial:

P.s. I want the vectra he was driving!

I've commented on this before, but if he wasn't on either an emergancy call or 'official' recorded training then he should face charges. Simple as! It wasn't just the 159mph motorway blast was it though, he was flying through residential (30mph) zones at stupid speeds too.

    (In my opinion)

The situation has been (not surprisingly) hyped by the media . However, my personal view is that he deserves everything he gets and that's the opinion of most people I work with.

I thought the reading wasn`t true as it hadn`t been callibrated ?

My opinion is that he was trained to drive at speed, if the only time you can do these speeds is chasing someone it wouldn`t be sensible, best try it out on quiet roads first. Just my opinion ...

tend to agree with bainie to an extent but the speeds he was doing to "test" the car are rediculous. It was quoted on the radio today that it would of taken him 1/4 of a mile to stop from that speed

He should be procecuted exactly the same as an ordinary member of the public.

At that speed a minimum two year ban would be appropriate.

    You're correct about the speed.

And yes, we do keep ourselves 'up to speed' (excuse the pun), but, in my opnion, he was taking it too far.
On saying that, I don't think he should be hung, drawn and quatered. He is facing a retrial because the cps want to make an example of him. There will be nothing 'fair' about his next court experience.
