Default 3.2 V6 Lightened and balanced flywheel Enquiry

Been talking to mark at courtenay , Because ever since we went to Germany Ive been thinking about having mine done .... especially when one of the vxlscc members there had a 3.2 vec B with a lightened and balanced flywheel fitted ... I spoke to Mark about this but he couldn't remember ever having done one on which i replied that he said he'd had it fitted at courtenay turns out that his was slightly different being a 2.6 originaly with a 3.2 bottom end so it wouldn't fit ours .... So being a little kid i sorta spat my dummy out politely ( as you do ) and had a moan about the fact that the Vectra c is brushed a side when it comes to mods and that there are so many people on this site alone that want these kinds of mods !!!!

So he went away to ask the question !!

Just got this e-mail back :-

    Hi Phil

Regarding producing a lightweight flywheel for Vectra C. We have not many enquiries for this so it is not something we have considered doing, however if one of your members happens to have an OE flywheel and clutch they care to let us borrow we will look at them and explore the feasibility of doing it. If we think it is possible to do we will put it in production and offer it first as a group buy to your members, providing we get a confirmed minimum order of 10 (as this is the minimum number of flywheels we have to buy at any one time)

    Hope this helps

    Regards

    Mark

Want do you think ???? obviously if the price is right ? how many of you would be thinking of doing this ? IF WE CAN SORT OUT A FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH FOR THEM ,

Can they do the 1.9 while they are at it? I've been bugging them about that for years and they always give me the same lame excuse. To be honest, if I had a flywheel and clutch to play with I would have had a custom one made up by now. I'd see if you can get hold of an old flywheel to work from before you get your hopes up. I would imagine you would have to buy one from a breakers.

lol....auto's dont really have flywheels ...so to sepak .......i have never come across anybody that has managed to lighten a duel mass flywheel i think it is imposible due to the nature of the beast ....it would req the vec b fly wheel fitting but then the gearbox input shaft wouldnt meet the drive plate and the slave cylinder would be to short ...but if they think they can lighten the flywheel i would let them try it ......what do you think it will cost .. ? loads me thinks ...

I think you would have to be looking at a single mass flywheel
