    Default Cat V Magpie

Larisa just called me to come and take a look.
There was a cat on our neighbours shed. Two magpies were going mad at the cat "dive bombing" it so to speak, as it was too close to their nest. The magpies kept on at the cat untill the cat jumped off the shed, must have met it,s match "eh". Parents looking after their young no doubt. Never thought I would see a bird see off a cat though.

Magpies are big enough to ignore cats and walk around while cats are dossing about. Cats are too cool to try and tackle a maggie so they both just ignore each other. Babies might be a snack though. I like the dive bombing stuff, put the cat back up and get some pics !!

I remember watching one of our cats trying to stalk a magpie, who knew he was there and kept cackling at him. They're very bright birds.
In the end, the magpie must have called in air support, as dirty great crow arrived and scared the cat off!
He doesn't have much luck with birds -I looked out one night to see what sounded like an owl making a lot of noise, to find it was a tawny owl sat on my neighbour's roof, giving him hell as he slunk off down the road!
