    Default Fuel Filter

Hi all .... Is it a straight foreward job to change the fuel filter on a 20Dti as the haynes manual has made me wary mentioning a proper bleed kit . done a fiat uno diesel once and just swapped it over no probs ???? ......D

as long as you do it like this you won't need a bleed kit..... haynes aren't always right..

remove the centre screw from the filter housing, discard the seal and replace with the new one. remove the filter lid, recover the main seal and replace with the new one.. drain with the drain tap and replace the filter..fill the filter to the brim with diesel

hold the lid down onto the body, pushing the main seal down tightly..

now, Via the screw hole, fill the lid cavity and the top of the filter right up to overflowing with diesel injector cleaner. make sure all the air is expelled, and we mean ALL
now, without letting any fluid out replace the centre screw and tighten. the car will now have no air in the highpoint of the diesel system. the car will start and run fine..

If , for whatever reason, the car will not start then just reprime via the screwhole..
