Stereo fitted but....

Have fitted my Pioneer stereo into my 02 plated Vec minus an aerial adapter. The thing just plays at the minute without keys in the ignition - all I have done is connected up the relevent leads plus a steering control adapter (which works).

Currently I have taken the head unit out because I dont want to drain the battery.

Is this me being a numpty or is it a common prob

On mine it did this and i needed to change the RED and Yellow wires over !!!!!

I think Drinky's right for the pre-facelift in the facelift with full CANBUS you have no option

All done - thanks for the help it worked a treat. So relieved as my ccr 2006 only played the radio since I bought the car in August but now I have full CD and ipod play.
