    Default VXR Trapezoid Tailpipes

    Hi all,

I removed my VXR tailpipes when I got the car as I dont like the trapezoid design.

However, recently I've not bothered cleaning the new 'oval' tailpipes and let them get really dirty and black... and I think it looks really good.

So... I then thought of painting or 'treating' the original VXR trapezoid chrome ones (as, IMO, they would look better toned down) but wasnt sure of the best method of getting them black...

Would a matt finish or gloss finish look better etc... heat resistant paint or treat the chrome finish with something ?

    Any ideas ?

    Steve

The trouble would be keeping the paint on & stopping it chipping & then looking a mess.
You would have to key the surface for the paint to get a good grip & use some heat resistant stuff, Although standard Cellulose should easily with stand the heat at the Tailpipe..

For a One stop Job done, i would perhaps cosider having the anodised or even aas you say, Satin chrome plated Etc.

    cheers
