Picture of Oil Can & 1000 miles?

When starting the engine at the momet I get a picture on the dash of an oil can and the number 1000, looking in the owners manual I can't see what this means? It goes of after a few seconds then appears for a few seconds when i switch the engine off?
Any Ideas?

Mine was serviced August 2006 on the 2 year service plan at a vx dealership.

I think he means it doesn't seem to count down from 1000

Yes it needs a service, and tbh, I don't care what Vx say, change the oil AT LEAST once a year. Even if you do low mileage a quick £50 oil change is worth doing.
