    try a quick search matey.
i'm sure all the C's (awaits confirmation) have this stupid dualmass flywheel.

iirc it is replaceable but i havent a scooby who makes them or what the result would be.

From what I understood, you can't replace the DMF with a single plate one as the clutch slave cylinder would be overextended.

I am sure there is a way around that though??

Also this wouldnt be a good idea on a diesel because it will lose some of its grunt on pulloff if i'm correct.

Nah, it wouldn't loose grunt, but it might run rough and would hurt your fuel economy. You could change the dual mass flywheel but you would have to have something custom made and for that you would need the Dual mass flywheel to work from.

You definitely need to stick with the DMF, otherwise your gearbox will see much longer if you swap it for a single plate.

so to sum it up, i can get a custom made dmf, made from lighter materials. Overall probably not worth it for the performance return

You might get off the line a bit quicker, so if you do alot of traffic light racing it might be worth it...not.

The only benefit I can see is with reliability and heavy tuning, the dual mass flywheels have been known to fail but I haven't heard or any on the 2.2DTI. Tuning wise, the DM-flywheel is tuned and when you modify you change the characteristics which can lead to rumbling and heavy vibrations.

All in all, I wouldn't bother unless you were changing the clutch and adding an LSD at the same time. Not sure the 2.2DTI makes enough power and torque to benefit from said though. Do you get alot of wheel spin and torque steer?

with the tc off i do, i was just curious really because i was looking into a bit of heavy tuning but not tearing the engine apart. Im more interested in strengthening the fuel pump to run much higher pressures
