Surely part No's on the calipers will be the same if they're the same caliper. From the looks of it they are exactly the same as has already been said. Hmmmmm brain starts ticking LOL.

from those pics it does just seem to be the caliper brackets that differ, unless it's the angle they are shot at... the pads should transfer over as well, so hopefully the police one's should also fit..

So all is needed is discs and carriers And I would also need to check if they clear the 17's.

It could be like the thing with the 278mm and 292mm rear calipers. Look the same but they do have slight differences but you can still fit a 278mm caliper over a 292mm vented disc with a bit of tweaking (it's the ability of the 292mm calipers to span the extra width of the ventilated disc that basically makes them different).

With both the 314mm and 345mm front discs being vented, and presuming the same width?, then maybe there is very little difference between the two calipers?

Very interested to see what test_uk comes up with tomorrow.

Ah, I have a feeling not a cat in hells chance! The 345s will clear most 18s, not all though - all depends on the offset. I'd need to check if they'd clear my 18s, but I'm positive they won't clear a 17? - unless anyone else knows differently?

Think about this.. If the pads are the same size between the two discs will having a larger disc actually generate any more stopping force if the pad contact area is the same?

Either way I'd do it just cause the disc would fit

314's are tight on 17's.....345's are going to be very very close running.. i'd be surprised if they went under.

the answer is yes... a bigger disc will always provide more stopping power than a smaller disc for the same pad size.. force by extension dad.. simple physics from a simple fella..

Well 345's are whats on the Plod cars and they run 17's, but obviously if they are made to fit the 345's inside them. I asked a guy and got a pic of them inside the 17's. will grab the pic

Yes because you are further away from the fulcrum. Its easier to stop a wheel from the edge than from the centre.

    EDIT, how slow am I.
