Default Whats your thoughts on the VXR Vectra?

They look an incredible machine with that 2.8i V6 turbo but what do you think of it? is it worth getting a loan out and getting one?

    I thought being a 2.8i v6 the 0-60 would be a bit more quicker tha 6.1
The corsa vxr can do it in what 6.8 seconds and thats a 1.4 so whats your views?

    will be interested to listen

The corsa VXR is a 1.6 turbo with 189bhp with a hell of a lot less weight so you cant compare really. But go for the Vectra as they are awesome and if youre worried abiut the 0-60 shell out a bit more and go for the 888 tuning bits which take the car up to 340bhp and the 0-60 goes into the 5 second mark.

You need to experience 0-60 in 6.1 seconds before you decide it's not fast enough mate...plus, although I don't know how brutally or discretely the turbo kicks in on the 2.8, turbo-charged cars normally "feel" quicker to accelerate than a normally aspirated car of the same performance, as the power is more on/off, so you may find it's plenty quick enough for you. Used to have a Rover 620Ti, chipped to 240BHP, and changing down from 4th to 2nd and then flooring it was like flicking a switch and going from cruising to warp speed in-the-blink-of-an-eye.

I had one for a year and my views are widely known *lol* buit in case you missed them ..

I traded my astra vxr in on the vec and was expecting a bit more than what the astra offered and was very dissapointed with the whole package. It is a very nice car don`t get me wrong, but it is not a fantastic or amazing car, which in my opinion the astra was. after 2 months ownership of the vxr I had it remapped, it totally changed the car and with the sport button depressed it was scary fast, but still in a very controlled manner. Acceleration at 80+ kinda figures was blistering and it struggled for traction at 70mph in the wet !! It wasn`t for me though, it drank petrol like it was going out of fashion, and this was more annoying as I had to keep going to the petrol station, more than the cost .. If you are thinking about one try to get a decent test drive, a couple of days to see if it suits you ... They are going for silly money now which will pay for a lot of petrol if you can be bothered filling it up a few times a week !!!

Most places like Regal will remap the Corsa VXR to 230bhp on a stage 1 remap !! that should be fun to drive

If you going down that route, I would deffo recommend talking to Andy or Chris in the service dept of Picador Vauxhall in Sholing, they will arrange for Regal to remap the car and that way they will back up the Regal warranty with theirs as you had it done by them , if you mention me they may even give you some discount of the Regal RRP , if you want there contact details PM me,

Yep, 300`ish, Killometers !! It was 200 - 250 to a tank driving it like you should, I don`t see the point of buying one then worrying about using it *lol* I didn`t do any motorway mileage though, as I don`t use the car to go to work, it is all around town, country roads etc tec ... The trip always said about 300 when I filled up, but it was a bare faced liar !! I didn`t sell it on fuel consumption, as I wasn`t expecting high mpg , but if you are going to be getting 20-25 mpg you want to enjoy it ..
