    Post Hankook Tyres

Have bin quoted £200 for 2 new tyres Hankook Ventus V12 evo 215/50/zr17 fitted, is this a good price and are they any good.
had a look at the 225/45/17 but smaller side wall and only £15 differance in total price fitted.

Try www.mytyres.co.uk always seem to beat everywhere else in my experience. Also circa £10 a wheel to get the tyres fitted at at garage.

Na I would not buy Hankook...a friend of mine had Ventus on his GTI and they were not impressing, and TBH IMO they are not reliable.

Your car originally has or had Good Year NCT5 on 215/50R17, and you are considering downgradign to Hankook on the same size

Forget that idea, just changeover to 225/45R17 as the front tyres wear out

    Consider either :
    Good Year Eagle F1 GSD3
    or
    Good Year Eagle F1 Assymetric

Best price at the moment is from :
camskill at about £80 each inclusive of delivery
    or
blackcircles.com at about £90 each inclusive of fitting

I have Hankook Ventus Sport on all 4 corners and the handle great in the wet, better than the NCT5. Sidewall it a bit tough for the rears but on the fronts there great. Rob, tyre manufacturers use different compounds in different continents so yours over there might be different to ours over here.

Yeap could be the case mate....I have a completely different idea about Ventus...they suck on wet conditions

Anything is better than NCT5's (probably even a set of Cheng Shin's)

Try looking at the reviews at pneus-online

    Good Year
Ironically the NCT5 is rated higher than the F1 GSD3 !

    Michelin
This is my favourite brand, note the difference between Primacy HP and Pilot Primacy

    Hankook

Change the ratings to SNOW, then you will see which is the best tyre!

NCT`s are not the best rubbers around we know that...but I think they are quite good among its ratings compared to others around IMO
