    Default Ever so slighty amazed

Just got back from a day out, and had a quick glance at the trip computer. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

    Range: 375 miles
    Trip: 65

By my reckoning that would suggest a total range of 440 miles!!!!

    Oh yeah, nearly forgot - I drive a 3.2 V6

Got to be the best I have ever seen

Yeah, I know. Guess I'd be lucky to see anything near 300. But I was quite surprised to see that sort of figure after 65 miles of motoring. Usually only get the higher figures just after a fill up whilst on a longish motorway run!

    Hmmmm Greediness prevails

I suppose Im happy with a range telling me I have 300 miles....3.00 Diesel

    OMG

Useless around town. local trips or anything, 26 mpg from a diesel? 37 on a recent 600 mile trip....

    Its cr*p

After ugrading my exhaust recently, I've seen my mpg improve by quite a bit. Prior to upgrading my urban driving was usually about 28mpg, now it doesn't go below 30mpg. What is even more surprising was the figures I got on the motorway the other day. A once a month 100mile round trip used to return about 35mpg, the last trip with the new exhaust was showing 43.5mpg. Now why is a 1981 Austin Metro concidered more enviromentally friendly than my 2.0T vectra

    Regards

    Nidge.

I regularly get over 500 out of a tank, but mine's the lowly 1.8.
If you want economy, don't go for the 3.2 - simple really.

True, but the 3.2 is such a good engine, and feels great when you've got the power on. I had considered getting a 3.0 V6 diesel, but just had to have the petrol.
