Centre Rear "Seat" on a Signum

Any Signum owners bothered to remove the token rear-middle seat/storage tray and replace it with a custom replacement seat made by a professional upholsterer? I'm considering getting it done as the existing one is useless even for a child on a very short trip.

Not heard of anyone doing this. I can see your point but I've had adults on short journeys in the middle seat without complaint. I certainly wouldn't want to sit in it for a long distance though!

Couldn't elaborate on that could you Andy ? do you mean I could go to VX and get a rear seat arrangement like the Vec estate fitted over the counter?

Not looking to get one, simply curious! Im guessing you lose the feature where the seat turns over to the storage tray side?, therefore the ability to have the TA, but for folks who aren't bothered about that and would prefer a better middle seat it's a nice idea, particularly for taxi drivers who are in areas that wouldn't license a Signum as they may class it as a four seater.

That's me - I bought the Signum for the rear legroom (car before it was an Omega, so I'm a bit spoilt for room...lol). Will definately check out the dealer-supplied seat mentioned above.

I know it's an old(ish) thread, but for anyone interested in this I was having a nosey around EPC today and came across these parts listed under a Taxi Conversion sub-heading.

Cushion pad, described as a Pad Assembly Squab is 9271359
Rear rest cushion pad is 9271354.

They're described as Anthracite vinyl, so it sound like it's a whole replacement cover with, I assume, a thicker padding to it and, I assume again, because of that that the centre seat may not flip around to the tray part and the rear backrest may not fold flat completely.

And before anyone asks, no I'm not converting mine into a taxi! lol I was just looking for the part numbers to do the rear heated seats - pads and switches as the wiring is already there.
