Problem

I was driving home last night doing whatever leptons that were required and my handbrake light came on as i was braking for a roundabout, i immediatley stopped and turned the car off but when i turned it on again the light had extinguished. The car did this twice but i dont know why, can anyone explain???????????

Sounds like low fluid level mate Check it asap! Hth

Yep, sounds like low fluid. Also check your breaklines to see if they are weeping. Getting mine replaced ASAP as there is severe corrosion in places.

sounds like low brakefluid fella so best to get the brakes checked out a.s.a.p as they could be very low

I had this to me when I got my car, everytime i went round a sharp corner handbrake light would come on.
Its caused by low brake fluid level (which i believe is connected to the hydraulic clutch system aswell)
Had mine topped up and no trouble since and light has stayed out.

what milage has it done? as i was told my gsi needed a brake fluid change every 40k

Just checked the level and its just below the minimum so will go and get some fluid cheers for the advice guys. I suppose i should check my levels more often i think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

104,000 miles i only bought it 4000 miles ago from the old bill.

Good it was the low level and not the level sensor
