Default Let me pick ur brains. engine prob :)

right..... Little bro has pug 106 on a w reg

recently had head done plus cam belt to see if this sorted out the problem. it hasnt.

the problem is ....... When left to idle it coughs and sits at 500 revs n dies? it some times doesnt want to start? when driving seems fine? just when stationary? also had plugs n leads done?

    any suggestions?

unseated valve? head not done properly (blowing accross 2 cylinders)?

have you check the distributer? i had a problem like this in a suzuki and turn out to be this. also try cleaning the fuel injection out with something like reddex see if that makes a difference. another thing could be a blocked exhaust, thats how i killed the suzuki lol

I had a similar problem on a Corsa....turned out to be a blocked Cat and then on another Corsa had the exact same problem, on that it turned out to be the crank sensor. I know they are different engines, but most often than not all the same problem usually point towards similar parts.

they could easily have not connected one of the sockets back properly, or not at all! worth going round to have a check!

Also, can you not go back to the garage who did the cambelt? Surely if its been since then they should take some ownership of the fault?
